Walter and Rosa Maria Jonas Foundation

The foundation was established during the lifetime of the Swiss artist Walter Jonas (1910-1979).

From the foundation deed:

Under the name "Walter and Rosa Maria Jonas Foundation", a foundation with its own legal personality exists for an indefinite period of time with its registered office in Zurich in accordance with the provisions of the Swiss Code of Obligations.

Purpose
The purpose of the foundation is to manage and properly preserve the foundation's assets, to systematically and holistically research the artistic work (paintings, architecture, writings) of Walter Jonas, and to mediate between the work and the public (publications, exhibitions, lectures, etc.).

Members of the foundation board: Roy Oppenheim, art historian (president until the end of 2025), Fabian Furter, Dr. sc. historian, art historian, Dr. Irina Davidovici, director of the gta archive of ETH Zurich, Dr. Andreas Früh, lic.iur. Mark Furger, Peter Matt, dipl. Construction. ETH, Harry J. Oppenheim, Senior Client Advisor UBS Switzerland AG.

Activities
The painter Walter Jonas (1910-1979) and his wife Rosa Maria Jonas (1908 - 1990) laid the foundations for the establishment of a foundation during their lifetime. The purpose of the foundation is to manage Walter Jonas's estate and to preserve it properly.

In addition, the foundation is to systematically and holistically research Walter Jonas' extensive painting, architecture and writing work. Another task of the foundation is to provide information - publications, exhibitions, lectures.

The foundation's assets (paintings, graphics, etc.) are located in the
Atelier Walter Jonas, Limmatauweg 18 c, CH-5408 Ennetbaden
